The Last Post?

Posted by The ShadowPlastic Label on Nov 12 2009 | General

Not quite. We’re moving to the future with an eye on the past. If you want to stay up with SPL, and we know you do, check us out on tumblr at shadowplastic.tumblr.com . We appreciate you patronage and patience as we get ready for another decade and beyond.

This is not a goodbye, we’re just saying hello again. We’ve been working closely with School House LLC on building their brand into a collegiate apparel powerhouse. We also have a slew of freshness in the works for 2010. 2009 was fine, now lets do it again in 2010.

Hopefully, we’ll catch you on the flipside.

Always yours,

-SPL

Who is The Real McKoy?

Posted by The ShadowPlastic Label on Sep 11 2009 | Art, General

The Real McKoy is an amazing Brooklyn based Graphic Artist, Illustrator, Screen-printer, Ideasman and Super Spy. He recently did an incredible mural installation at ACE Hotel’s New York location and orchestrated the decoration of 5 rooms there with artists such as Jasper Wong and Jim Mahfood. He is truly an incredible insominiac and we at ShadowPlastic are overflowing with girlish glee that we managed to entice him to join our squad. What does this mean for SPL?

More expanding!

When you start getting too big for your britches, you get bigger britches. That’s exactly what we’re doing. Pardon our appearance as we restructure our lab and website. We’ll occasionally update the blog with cool things, but with less frequency until the restructuring is done. We apologize to our viewers but trust us, it’s for the sake of progress.

In the mean time, check out The Real McKoy’s ACE Hotel piece below and more of his work at www.therealmcKoy.com.

Artists Wanted- Art VS. Design Competition

Posted by KAGE on May 28 2009 | General

It’s an age old debate, as old as advertising, wall carvings and mating rituals (?): What moves you more: “Art” or “Design”? A Brooklyn based group called Artists Wanted is attempting to settle this argument once and for all through the great human tradition of competition. There is a nice little prize package involved for the winner as well. Check out my submissions at www.artistswanted.org/kagegfx and sign up yourself to participate.

Introducing ShadowPlastic 3.1

Posted by The ShadowPlastic Label on Feb 24 2009 | General

So we’ve been working hard behind the scenes upgrading and updating SPL’s web presence in concert with all the events and promotiong , partying and drinking we’ve been doing. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SPL 3.1. We’re still setting things up so pardon our appearance and watch out for the wires.

We have uploaded our new ShadowPlastic Boutique  Lite so you can purchase new SPL tees as they’re released and get an update when we release new gear until the new cart is complete. We’ve also changed the look of the SPL Word to coincide with the major upgrade of ShadowPlastic.com. Soon you’ll be able to buy original artwork and prints from SPL artists, view footage from our gallery openings at our new pop-up gallery at Enve Salon & Gallery, download music from our featured musicians and even find out ways to collaborate with SPL on future projects. Last but not least, we’ve joined the masses like sheeple and have started ‘Twittering”. You can keep up with our very exciting lives by following us on the sidebar or by checking out our twitter page at www.twitter.com/shadowplastic.

As we grow we ask you to please be patient with us as we bring you the goods. Until the next post. . .

AUDIO: Green Light (DLake Rmx) – John Legend f. Andre 3000

Posted by KAGE on Sep 03 2008 | General

Here is some nice morning booty shaking music to brighten up hump day. As a matter of fact, this right here might make you want to hump the person in the cubicle next to you. Just remember, that is sexual harassment and it is by no means my fault. Blame it on the boogie that DLake hath presented you in the form of “Green Light” by John Legend featuring that modern day Renaissance Man Andre 3000. Even better than the original and the original was already b’dass.

It’s what Sexual Harris meant.
