KageGFX declared Artist of the Day on BrooklynArtProject.com

Posted by KAGE on Dec 11 2008 | General, SPOTTED! (Press)

“I would like to thank God, whom without Him none of this would have been possible, my mother, whom without her love and support I could have never made it this far (SOB!) and most importantly you, the fans, for believing in me.”

That’s my canned acceptance speech.

I woke up this morning and went about my normal routine of email checking, blog reading and social networking and I came upon this:

Yay, that’s me! Seems like there is more to old KageGFX than meets the eye.
I highly recommend checking out, if not joining Brooklyn Art Project, even if you don’t live in Brooklyn. It’s a great community of artists in the world’s best borough (don’t hate me Queens) and a superb source of news and resources for creatives and appreciators alike.

Props to Anthony Cospito, BAP Co-Founder.

PICS: CRUNCH Under The GYMfluence Party, 10/20/08

Posted by KAGE on Oct 30 2008 | Events, General, SPOTTED! (Press)

Now at first thought one would thing that mixing alcohol, heavy machinery, and loud, hard dance music in a gym with a bunch of party seekers on a Monday night would be ill advised or at least a bad idea. On the contrary, it’s the BEST GOSH DARN IDEA EVER!!!
SPL soldiers The Italians (Head&Hand and Alessio) and KAGE rolled up into CRUNCH Under The Gymfluence party and got wasted around some really beautiful and fit people; made me want to do more exercise than just lifting a pint glass to my mouth and clicking a remote. These are just some of the pics from this monster. There was circus s#it, a crazy dance floor, exotic dancers, and I almost made out with a cute ass photographer (Damn you whiskey lips!!!).

Peep the pics HERE.

Props to Shelly at CRUNCH for the pics and SKIMKIM for holding down the bar and the grub.

“. . . it’s play or get played.”

Posted by KAGE on Oct 09 2008 | General

So I’m excited to say that I managed to get another one of my designs for Ten Bills on the back of Michael K. Williams aka Omar Little from The WIRE and most recently in Spike Lee’s Miracle At St. Anna without the help of mind tricks or spiked drinks. Head over to tenbills.com immediately and cop this plus other dope ass tees for, well . . . $10 bills. That’s like the best deal since they started handing out free water balloons in high school.

Wait, those aren’t water balloons? Then what are they for? Ohhhhhhh. Sara Palin is definitely against those. And apparently Bristol Palin is too. OHHHH SNAP! Burn! Facial! Suck it!

What? . . . That joke is late? Damn. Whatever. . .

ShadowPlastic Closes Its Doors. . .

Posted by blogmaster X of The ShadowPlastic Label on Aug 29 2008 | General

. . . But only for the rest of the summer. Scared ya, didn’t I?

We’re gearing up to make moves in the Fall so the you won’t be able to buy gear from the site for a bit until a HUGE rebirth in September. You can still rely on The SPL Word (this blog your reading right now) for the latest updates at SPL and other randomness from the mind of that silly KAGE character.
We want to thank all our supporters and customers for keeping us going over the summer and inspiring us to be bigger, better and more beastly than the competition. We heart you magnificent bastards.

Click on the “SHOP” link above to find out more about the near future of your favorite label, ShadowPlastic.

We’ll be right back.

PRESS (sorta): KAGE gets on Omar from The WIRE!!!

Posted by KAGE on Aug 18 2008 | General, SPOTTED! (Press)

When not cranking out designs and handling the everyday ho-hum at The SPL KAGE’s alter-ego, Jason M. does freelance art assassinations. Here you can find my latest massacre on the chest of none other than Michael Kenneth Williams (although you might know him better as OMAR from HBO’s The WIRE. If you don’t know because you been living under a boulder, Omar was the illest with gayngster to ever hunt the street of B-more. Now that the show is over, he’s getting on his legal hustle and chilling with the cats from TenBills:

“I made this.” -KAGE

So yes, head over to TenBills.com and cop this and other dope designs for ten bills ($10).

Props to c1 for putting me on and holding things down.

“The Brooklyn Stabber” Spotted at Rock The Block

Posted by blogmaster X of The ShadowPlastic Label on Aug 13 2008 | Events, General

If you weren’t one of the few cool people that attended Rock The BlocK this past weekend, then you seriously missed out. It was absolutely bananas. There was live art, spoken word and DJ Spinna killed it at Frank White with the B.I.G. & Jay-Z tribute.
We held it down at YUME where we spotted the infamous and ever elusive “Brooklyn Stabber”:

Word is The Brooklyn Stabber has been spotted in other neighborhoods all over Brooklyn. If you’ve seen anything or have any further information regarding this rogue, please contact the authorities at The ShadowPlastic Label immediately.

Brooklyn Beware!
