Improvised Weapons: The Art of Nick James

Posted by The ShadowPlastic Label on Jun 23 2009 | Illustration, Inspiration

Nick James is a sick illustrator based in NYC. He does amazing line work that reminds me of Jamie Hewlitt (Tank Girl, The Gorillaz) and Keith Giffen (Lobo, Trencher). I met him briefly at the Jim Mahfood show we put on at YUME Gallery way back when and he’s a really talented, down to earth dude. Make sure to visit his site and blog and check out his work.

PhotoshopDisasters: City of Toronto: Token Brilliance

Posted by The ShadowPlastic Label on Jun 22 2009 | Design, Ontspanning

This site is awesome but it’s content is absolutely horrible, for good reason. Photoshop Disasters collects the best of the worst photoshop accidents, whether done on purpose or not and allows you to shakes your finger at the “designer” responsible for such buffoonery. A monkey with one arm and half an eye could do better than some of these people. Which goes to show clients out there: do the research and  spend the money on a good designer to get a better product because in the end, you get what you pay for.

And side note, I think Toronto is racist.
